“Nigerian scammer that scam on valuable gadgets!”

This happened these few days on one of the ads I posted at Mudah.com.my. However, this scam issue kind of famous and had been happen throughout the year everyday not only at Mudah, but lelong, ebay, amazon and etc. They aim for valuable stuff like laptop, computer, palm phone, hand phone, PDA, car parts and etc.

Summary of how they scam you

1. They will search for victims throughout the net world wide from those famous site like eBay, Amazon, Mudah, Lelong and etc.

2. Once they found you, they will email you and tell you that they are interested on your goods and ask the price from you.
*they will accept any offer from you eg:actual price you put on net – RM2,000, they will accept the price even though you offer RM5,000 for that.

3. After your reply, the Nigerian will agree with your offer and mentioned that they will be using Bank to Bank transfer method to bank in the money to you. Then only shipping the product to them. They will also provide you the address to where you need to ship and who is the receiver. Everything looks very real but on the other hand, is just a scam from them.

4. You must provide them you bank account number and some bank details so that they can include in an bank transfer statement (fake one) for you.

5. For fasten the trade process, they will tell you that they are going to bank in the money now and within few hours, you will be receiving a fake bank credit transfer statement from a different sender email address. All the details are stated on the bank statement but with one condition to get your money, which is to send a soft copy of your shipping recipe to the bank to prove that the goods already sent out to the respective destination that the Nigerian gave earlier on in the email.

6. They will tell you that the money already transfer and ask you to ship the goods right away so that the deal can be success. If you believe it and send your goods, then that’s it la. You lost your goods and also a shipping fees with approximately RM500.

Below is the case study if you are interested to read on.

My personal experience on Nigerian scam!

1. I post an ads on Mudah.com.my for selling my DELL XPS laptop with a price of RM2,000 to RM2,300.

2. I get an email from a person call Carry.

Hi,
Happy New Year to You!!!
My name is Carry Ben,from United Kingdom, I want to buy your Item,
Firstly i will like to know the final price cost of your item and also
want you to tell me how many you have for sales,I am serious interested.

I hope to read from you fast.

Best Regards
Carry Ben

3. For a seller, you will definitely feel happy to receive this kind of email. So I reply him:

Hi,

YOu are from UK? So how are you going to deal and take the laptop?

Anyway, the price would not exceed RM2,300. What is your offer? If you
can pay RM2,300 for the laptop which includes of all the free stuff,
you can just take it.

However, I have only one laptop in hand.

Thanks

4. Now, Carry reply together with the offer and shipping address.

That is the address,
Thanks

5. Wow, for sure you will get shock with their offer of RM4,500 on your second hand laptop that worth around RM2,000. Well, I’m started to get suspicious and try to ask him some question regarding the trading process.

Hi Carry,

I not sure why you would purchase my laptop with that price and I believe have the technology also right? Anyway, if you are a serious buyer, you can bank in to my Public Bank

Eric Oye Eng Keat
xxxxxxxxx

Do let me know once the money already bank in and I will contact FedEx immediately for the shipping.

Thanks and regards

6. Then he will be replying you and telling you how the bank transfer thingy, and this is how they scam you actually, read it!

I understand you and i will go to my bank now to send the money …but what really happen is that my bank as policy of money transfer…what i mean is when i send the money my bank will email you with the confirmation of the payment, so that you can see that i have send the money and you have to send immediately the item and send the shipment receipt copy paper to my bank so that once my bank confirm the shipping receipt from you they can finally credit your account and you can receive the money…. i hope you understand me well..

7. Of cause I know that it is a SCAM for sure! Well, let us play the game together and see what they will do. But I did offer him to use Western union which is world wide fund transfer place and see what he respond. End up, he ignore my email.

8. After that, I received an email from Bank of Essex and below is the content:

9. Well, is damn obvious that this is a super duper STUPID scam that most people will realize. However, I did reply him with lots of NICE words and some NICE finger photo to that bank email address (fake one as well).

Warning to all online shoppers and sellers

I received this kind of emails not once but a lot just on my cute little laptop advertisement at Mudah. I would like to alert everyone on this stupid and scamming behavior by those F***ing Nigeria. They will normally said that they want to buy this item and ask you to ship it to Nigeria for their husband, son, uncle or whatever shit it is. Just F them and block them. You don’t want to spend your time on that. But if you want to feel the real experience on this issue, try it, why not? haha, you will feel surprise on how they trying to scam you.

FYI, you can google it with the keywords like nigerian scam, nigeria scammer and etc. You will surprise with it.

Happy Reading.
